The most common cause of sciatica is a lumbar herniated disc pressing on the nerve root. Other causes include spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, and piriformis syndrome.

Accurate diagnosis of the cause of sciatica is essential for determining the most appropriate treatment. We use clinical neurological examination and review MRI images to precisely locate where the nerve is being compressed.
